June meeting: Saturday 27 June 2015

In conversation with Fr Martin Hardy

Do young people really think that a magical oversized chocolate-bearing bunny died at Easter? If so, does it matter and what can be done about it? More seriously, how do the younger generation understand notions of God and spirituality? What kinds of help do they need in their personal journeys? What part can be played by the established churches, and how might that be different from the recent past? Where does liberal, radical or progressive thought show itself in the modern Catholic church?

We really looking forward to exploring some of these questions, and more, with Father Martin Hardy, parish priest of St Patricks on Beaumont Leys Lane. Martin is the diocesan episcopal vicar for education and a friendly and interesting speaker. The format will be conversational, with plenty of time for questions, comments and other forms of audience participation.

Everyone welcome - existing fans, newcomers and the simply curious.
